THE FOUNDATION STONE OF FAITH

The Law of the Spirit of Life

  T

he fundamental teachings of Christianity are essential for every believer who desires an intimate relationship with their Creator.  To come to maturity in our relationship with the Lord, we need to know His Word in order to understand His will for our lives.  We can have our senses exercised to know and discern between good and evil through study of God's inspired Word, the Holy Bible.  With all of the New Age religions becoming popular it is easy to understand a Christian's need to become skillful in God's Word.  These studies will establish us in the faith and prepare us for the work God has called us to walk into.

The Foundation Of Our Faith

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.  -- Heb 6:1-3

Understand The Power Of The Word Of God By Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.  By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. -Heb 11:1-3

Faith Is An Indispensable Element

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.    -- He. 11:6

Faith Is A Gift From God

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,    -- Eph.2:8

Faith Works Through Love, So Do Spiritual Gifts

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor circumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.  -- Ga. 5:6

Faith Is Revealed Through The Word Of God

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." - Ro. 1:16-17

The Gift Of Salvation Is Lived By Faith

For we walk by faith, not by sight.    -- 2 Cor 5:7

Justification Comes By Faith Not In Trying To Live According To The Works Of The Law

..."knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.    -- Galatians 2:16

Our Righteousness Came Through Being Placed In Christ's Crucifixion

"For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."    --Galatians 2:19-21

The Law Of Faith Works Through Love

For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.  --Galatians 5:5-6

We Are Set Free To Fulfill The Law Of Love

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."    -- Galatians 5:13-14

The Greatest Commandment

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  "This is the first and great commandment. "And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."  -- Matthew 22:36-40

Love Never Fails

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.    -- 1 Cor 13:4-8

Those Who Do God's Will Are Justified

For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things contained in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)  Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.  Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. -- Romans 2:12-15

By The Renewing Of Our Mind We Are Transformed

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.    -- Romans 12:1-3

Faith Comes Through Hearing The Word Of God

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  -- Romans 10:14-17

The Truth Is Revealed Through The Scriptures

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world.  Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.    -- 1 John 4:1-6

We Express Our Faith By Being A Doer Of God’s Word

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.  Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.  Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes   himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.    -- James 1:17-25

The Love Of God Is Revealed Through Us In Deed And In Truth

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.  And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.    -- 1 John 3:16-18

We Overcame The World Through Faith In God

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is He who came by water and blood; Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.    -- 1 John 5:1-8

Faith And Deeds

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.  You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe; and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.  - James 2:14-26

By Faith Through Love We Overcome The World

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  -- 1 John 5:2-5

The Parable Of The Fig Tree

Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him,  "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe  that you receive them, and you will have them. "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also  forgive you your trespasses. "But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."  -- Mark 11:20-26

Faith Is A Defensive Weapon

... above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.    -- Eph 6:16

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.    -- 1 Thessalonians 5:8

We Receive The Holy Spirit Through Believing In Jesus

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. -- 1 John 3:23-24

Faith Liberates Us To Fulfill God’s Law Through The Law Of The Spirit -- Rom. 8:1-2

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [a] 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Footnotes:

1. Romans 8:1 Some later manuscripts Jesus, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit,

We Are Justified By Faith

Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.    -- Galatians 3:24-25

By Faith We Become Heirs With God’s Son

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.    -- Gal. 3:26-29

We Are Heirs Of God ‘In Christ’

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.    -- Galatians 4:6-7

Through Faith We Are Justified

Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who  justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,  -- Romans 4:4-5

Through Faith God Answers Prayer According To His Will

"And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." -- Matthew 21:22

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.    -- 1 John 5:14-15

Faith Is The Secret Behind Answered Prayer

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.    -- James 1:5-8

LIVING BY FAITH TOWARDS GOD

  B

y grace alone God saves us through faith in the accomplished work of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ proclaimed to the world, “It is finished!” God clearly reveals His will through His inspired Word. God’s desire is for the every man, woman, and child to conform to the image of his Son.  God gave his Son, Jesus Christ for the total reconciliation of all men unto God.  The relationship God desires is possible through Jesus Christ as each member of the church allows God’s Word and Spirit to replace their hearts of stone with a new heart and spirit from God.  Within the New Testament letters the Spirit continually calls out to the sons and daughters of God time and time again.

The church is full of young and immature self-centered people professing to be Christians.  Immature believers concern themselves with their wants and desires, although God’s stated will for them is to love those around them and become other-centered.  The self-centered attitude comes from fallen human nature and does not reflect the spiritual nature Jesus died to give us.  For the church to overcome this dilemma, the children of God need to change dramatically in their thinking.  Everyone needs to receive the truth about their identity and position ‘in Christ’ and practice the truth for it to become reality.  Only when the truth about our ‘identification’ and ‘position’ ‘in Christ’ becomes a reality in the church, will there be a God-given desire, to reveal the love and life of Jesus Christ.  Then we can say we understand His will for our life.

The Word of God reveals a victorious vision of the church.  God calls us to be a community of servants, where God’s children treat each other with charity, respect, dignity, and acceptance.  A community of believers that considers and esteems the needs of others side-by-side with their needs.

Imagine every member of the church contributing to each other’s well-being, an entire culture being motivated, involved, and committed to the fulfillment of loving one another.  Mature Christian relationships come about when two people know Jesus Christ personally and allow His spiritual life in them to fulfill the perfect law of love.  This kind of maturity only comes when they surrender their will and heart to God’s will.  The transformation involves God replacing our corrupt heart and spirit with a new heart and a new spirit.  With a new heart and spirit born of God the life of the Lord Jesus Christ can reflect through a believer’s life.  As we grow in faith (trust), the church will grow through the trials, tribulations, and the testing of the relationship.  Our personal responsibility is a daily commitment to maintaining our communion with God.  This will come as we begin to understand the different roles of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through the Scriptures.  We learn to stand on the promises of God that He gives to us for our comfort and we abide by His providential care.  We see the will of God for our life through Jesus obedience.  He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the One who came to reveal His trust in God so we can Trust in Him even to the point of our trusting God for our death through Him.

Every member of the body of Christ is unique with different personalities and God-given talents. As part of the body, each member needs to learn about their place in the body of Christ.  No one is insignificant.  God creates us with the intention of our being a part of the body of Christ.  Each member needs to learn how to participate and partake in God’s plan of redemption.  God personally wills and either directly or indirectly affects not only our lives but the life of every other member of our family and the church.

Each of us has different roles, functions, and capacities but we are still one body.  We have different God-given talents and gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.  We have all been united together by being baptized into Christ and received the promise of the Holy Spirit for this cause.  The Holy Spirit came to lead us, and He is the one who is there to empower us.  The Holy Spirit authorizes and works the gifts through us for ministry.  He gives members the authority and support to minister unto the needs of other members of the body.  We are God’s gift to each other.  God gave us to each other to encourage and build up one another in Christ.  When we allow God to work through us, we will be working with Him, not just for Him.

Giving our life as a living sacrifice is our greatest gift to God, and a life given to God is our greatest gift to our community.  We need leaders; we need examples!  Examples who live the life they talk about!  These leaders are willing to set personal goals aside and reveal God’s plan for the reconciliation of mankind.  We need leaders who will motivate and encourage people to continually grow into the likeness of Christ.  The Christian culture demands a change in lifestyle.  Even with the best available resources, the biggest challenges and the best opportunities to improve our communities come through individual efforts.  These leaders will sacrifice their own life and take up the Cross daily.  This requires the unselfish sacrifice and obedience in a person that will allow God to shatter their heart of stone and replace it with a new heart of flesh and blood to give us a right spirit, a broken and contrite spirit before God.

The question each elder, deacon, lay person, and Sunday school teacher needs to ponder, “Are we sending people out prepared to meet the community’s needs?”  We need to look at our own approach and personal practices.  We need to be accountable to one another.  “Have we really been listening to God?  Do we give the people what they need?  Or, are we meeting the needs of the community with our interpretation of Christianity?  Do we use pet doctrines to get them to conform to our image?  Is the chief sin of the local church 'Procrusteanism'?

In effect, procrusteanism is our effort of forcing people into our image or religious system instead of helping people conform into the image and likeness of our Savior.  We are responsible for our own actions.  We need to question the thoughts, motives, and intents of our hearts.  Otherwise, we will only continue to play church.

The challenge lay(s) before us, “Are we willing to lay our life down to allow God to enable us to express the life of Christ through us?  Will we reflect the love God has for a dying world and give up trying to do God’s will in our strength?”  There is only one hero, our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are His brothers and sisters, and members of the family of God; we are ambassadors of His good will toward humanity.  We are not employees or associates, ‘We are His children, born of God!’  The job of judging or even convicting the world is the Holy Spirit’s work.  Scripture says that judgment begins on the house of God so we better clean up our act before we begin to try and convince others about their sinful nature.

God commissions us to share the Good News!  Jesus came to save the world and destroy the works of the evil one.  He came to reveal the grace, mercy and truth about God’s love through us.  We are here to reveal that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus and walk according to the Spirit.  Therefore the challenge is, “Will we set aside our personal agendas, deny ourselves, take up the Cross, and follow Christ’s example?”  God wants to know!

We are to be the light of the world, empowered by the Holy Spirit, sharing the blessings of God.  We can not be a light until we deal with the corrupt nature that is at war with God’s Holy Spirit.  To be able to extend the grace and mercy shown to us through Jesus Christ our Lord, we need to become obedient to the will of God as revealed through Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the only one given to resolve everyone’s problem with sin.  He is the open door to receiving a new heart and a new spirit.  Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor and He is our Salvation.  So where does this lead us?  Hopefully, we bend our knees and rest at His feet just as Mary did.

The Bride of Christ is being readied for her Bridegroom through the continuing efforts of the Holy Spirit reconciling the relationships of believers. The members of the church need to continually examine themselves and allow God’s Spirit to prepare His Son’s bride.  Through their relationship in Jesus Christ, the faithful know God already envisions the Church without spot or wrinkle because God placed us in Christ so that we could receive His righteousness.

Our strength is in knowing the weakness of the corrupt nature and letting God become our strength, by accepting the truth.  Our relationship with God will then become our only strength.  God drew us to Himself.  We did not find Him; He found us.  The strength of the church is dependent on our personal ‘trust in God’ and resting in knowing  ‘God is God’.  When we yield our will to God, He reveals His will for our life and empowers us to live it through a new heart and a new spirit.  Although we did not know the will of God as we began our walk, we learn to let Him become our strength as the Holy Spirit, through the Word of God, lights our pathway.   For it is written, ‘Those who are led by the Spirit, they are the sons and daughters of God.’ (Ro.8:14)

We are members of the body of Christ on earth, His church, and given different gifts and callings, according to the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit gives the gifts severally as He wills and is the one who works the spiritual gifts through us.  We need to listen and obey God!  We need to leave God’s dominion alone and let Him take care of His creation.  Then, working with Him, we can go about doing the works He has prepared for us.  There is no ‘Lone Ranger’ working in the Bible.  Today, there is no need for renegades, those believers who do their own thing, not connected to the rest of the body of Christ, nor answerable to any earthly ministry.  The believers need connection with a group of mature Christians who know the truth, to help keep them free.

  S

cripture must be held in proper esteem for a true Christ-centered doctrine of holiness.  The Epistles must be revered as the inerrantly inspired Word of God communicated by the Holy Spirit.  The New Testament conveys with certainty the authoritative and definitive view of what holiness is.  The Word of God must be seen as the definitive end to theory and the only source for practical application.  True holiness is found through the personal revelation of the Holy Spirit moving in the individual’s life.

The Holy Spirit deals with sin as a disease condition, the ‘sin that dwelleth in me’, Romans 7:17, 20, & 23.  Sin is a disease condition that abides with our nature.  In order to deal with the struggle of our sinful nature God gives us a new heart and spirit upon conversion.  The Holy Spirit effects a new spiritual birth within as He regenerates us, He spiritually infuses us with His own nature.  We are immersed into Christ, into His death, burial, resurrection, ascension and life.  The conversion of the soul is a regeneration. The whole of man is mentally, morally, and spiritually revitalized.  The renewal of the mind is evident in Ephesians 4:23 and Romans 12:2.  The new creation is being sanctified and refined by the Holy Spirit.

Human nature is corrupt from birth.  Mankind is capable of doing both good and evil.  No man is totally good or totally evil.  However, mankind has a propensity for sin.  The Bible points out our human evil nature but it does not say we are reprobate.  The Bible does say that though we have a body, soul, and spirit we are spiritually dead; morally corrupt, and physically subject to death.

The inherited tendency toward sin comes from Adam’s race.  The condition we are born with is a product of original failure to be obedient to God.  Everything God created was good;  it is because of the fall the propensity for evil was established.  Our possibility for doing good does not contribute to regeneration or salvation.  We are spiritually dead and morally perverted.  It is because of this perversion that the Holy Spirit must divinely convert us and give us our new heart and spirit.  We receive a new moral and spiritual nature when we are born-again.

We become sons and daughters to serve the Most High God.  We were sinners by nature but we become children of God’s kingdom upon conversion.  The Holy Spirit’s message is one of inwrought holiness brought about by the sole work of the Cross our Savior died upon.  In a real sense we are no longer sinners.  We have become children of the light to reflect the glory of God.  Yes, we occasionally sin but we are no longer captive to the power of sin.

The judgment of man’s Adamic nature was completed on the Cross.  The body of death was judicially done away with by God’s provision in the death of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.  “I (the total man) have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I (the Adamic nature) who live, but Christ lives in me (the spiritual man);  and the life (natural life) which I (the new creation) now live in the flesh (my body) I (the new spiritual man) live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me (the new man) and gave Himself for me (the old man). -- Galatians 2:20.

Romans 6:6 is representative of the judicial decree by God, the force of the Scripture is a judgment upon all of Adam’s race. “... knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”  -- Rom 6:6

“Our Old Man, By Relation To Adam Was Found Guilty Before God; That Is Our Entire Race Was Judged And Crucified With Christ That In Christ The Body Of Sin Is Destroyed; Therefore, The Race Of Adam Was Crucified In Christ That We Should No Longer Be In Legal Bondage To Sin Through Judicial Guilt.”

The confirmation of the interpretation of this verse is seen in 2 Corinthians 5:14 -15.  “One died for all, therefore all died [in Him] and He died for all, that they which live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto Him.”

GOD IS FAITHFUL TO KEEP HIS PROMISES

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. -- 1 Cor 6:9-11

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. -- 2 Cor 5:21

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. --  Rom 5:1-2

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. -- Rom 5:5

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. -- James 1:17-18

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! -- 2 Cor 5:17

We know that whoever is born of God does not (continually) sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. -- 1 John 5:18  Italics mine.

"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. -- John 10:29

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. -- 2 Th 3:3

Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.  The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. -- Psa 121:4-8

If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge--  then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. -- Psa 91:9-13

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. -- Psa 34:7
